As a side note, I am all about supporting women and embracing our beautiful curves. Skims does an amazing job encouraging women to feel sexy and caters to literally every body. I absolutely love that Kim created her brand after she noticed there were not enough shade ranges, solutions for enhancing bodies, or varieties for undergarments and shape wear. She saw an issue and she decided to create a solution. It’s time to get rid of the complex we have around wearing tight clothing! The brand is simple, sexy, and provides the results I need. What more could I ask for, especially when I’m just lounging around and preparing for the day we come out of this quarantine?
Personally, I am very petite with a small torso and a bigger bust. I have a hard time finding things that accentuate my curves. Even when shopping for clothes, I struggle to find pieces that hug my petite body in the right places. My ‘problem’ areas are mainly my tummy and my bust, so the two things I bought first for solution-wear are the Core Control Thong and the Body Tape. I had no expectations for my items, but here’s how it went:
Core Control Thong
I bought the Core Control Thong in a size XXS/XS and was automatically like ‘is this going to fit me?’. So I rolled it on and my waist became non-existent. I’m not kidding, it really cinched my waist! I was pleasantly surprised with the results. It has non-slip grips around the waist so it doesn’t move around or roll down. So, I slipped on a super tight dress and put it to the test. No bloating peeking through and I was feeling real Kim in it. It does a really great job hugging my core in tight, but not too much to where I feel like a sausage. However, since they are tight I’d love to try the S/M next time. It’s super durable, with other shapewear I feel like it screams for help when you put them on. Skims was made for the tough shit. No rips, no problems!
Body Tape
First off, look at the reviews and videos of women of all sizes using the tape and you’ll know that this is actually an investment. I bought the tape in Sand Stone. It doesn’t rip off your skin which is fucking fabulous, my girls who buy nipple covers and other boob tape know what I’m talking about! You can readjust the tape and it doesn’t lose it’s stickiness, and the tape is sweatproof, lasting up to 12 hours! Sweatproof for Arizona summers is a Godsend. I can’t wait to wear it out this summer and after quarantine! No more having to worry about how I look in deep plunge tops and dresses! The Body Tape is a great choice no matter the bust size.
Bralette and Boxer Set
I love things that offer support and comfort. In all honesty, I love loungewear in general! Since we’re spending a lot of time indoors while social distancing, this set is everything and more! I bought the bralette (size S) and boxer shorts (size XS) in the color Bone, which I am obsessed with! For reference, I am a 32DD in bras and a size 0-2 in pants. Skims’ size guide was super accurate and useful!
My first thought when I received my set was about how amazing the quality is! The material is so soft, made of mainly cotton. The bralette is adjustable and fits my small torso and bigger bust so well and the boxer shorts cinch my waist so nice! I’m honestly so impressed, it’s worth the price. I will definitely be buying more sets.
Honestly, I am super impressed with my Skims order. I love how fast and secure shipping was for me. I got my mom, sister, and girlfriends on the hype, we’re all obsessed. Kim really did her thing when she created Skims! I have my eye on a few items from Skims still and as soon as I finally see them restocked, I’ll buy them! I’m still interested in trying the t-shirt bra, more tummy solutions including the Sculpting Short Mid Thigh and the Sculpting Bodysuit, and a waist trainer. One thing I’d love to see Kim bring to the brand is a great double-sided tape for clothing as well. Overall, I 100% love and support Skims and I can’t wait to have more.
